COMMUNITY INVITED TO SHAPE NEW HIGH SCHOOL …

Penny Robertson

PUPILS, parents and members of the local community are being invited to a forum at which they’ll have the chance to shape the future of the area’s new high school – including helping to choose the new school’s name. The Leiston – Saxmundham Learning Partnership is a coalition made up of Saxmundham and Leiston Middle Schools and Leiston High School. It’s been formed to enable the three schools in the area to work together closely in the run up to a new 11 – 18 high school being opened for pupils in September 2012.

A community meeting is being held at Leiston High School on Wednesday 16 June between 6.30 – 8.30pm. This forum will give parents, pupils and members of the wider community an opportunity to air their views, make suggestions and hear about plans for the merger. Teaching staff and governors from all schools in the area will be available for discussion and there will be refreshments.
