Speed up Suffolk Campaign
Register now to stop Suffolk missing out Many individuals and businesses in this area are frustrated by the poor quality of broadband services they receive so I am delighted to pass on information of a new campaign to speed up the service across the County.
EREBUS -- Eastern REgion Broadband Uplift Scheme -- aims to encourage commercial suppliers to invest in next generation broadband infrastructure in the East of England in a manner that does not favour any operator or competing technology.
EREBUS wants to register as much demand for next generation broadband services as possible to demonstrate that there is sufficient demand to make the commercial investment worthwhile. They believe that nothing does this like listing real potential customers, across all sectors, and the services that they require.
If you feel that current broadband levels are inadequate for your business or your needs as an individual, please take some time to complete the EREBUS online survey to improve Suffolk's chances to get funding for faster broadband.
The survey, being led by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), will demonstrate that Suffolk needs amongst other things faster learning platforms for schools and homes, faster and more efficient healthcare teleservices, faster 'Do it online' facilities and a competitive edge for local businesses.
The survey can be found at www.erebusonline.org.uk or by following the link on the Suffolk County Council website www.suffolk.gov.uk/News/BreakingNews/SpeedUpSuffolkCampaign.htm
BOS would be really grateful for any support you can give us on this. It is very important that we make the most of this opportunity to inform
EEDA about Suffolk's needs. Please also circulate the information amongst your communities and networks. Robert Foyers, Chair BOS, Businesses of Saxmundham. www.erebusonline.org.uk
