Christies Wear It Pink
Saxmundham-based Christies Care joined in the fundraising for 'Wear It Pink' supporting Breast Cancer Now.
Donations, a raffle and cake stall contributed to a brilliant sum of £464.45. Christies have raised a total of £3,567 since they started supporting the event in 2004.
Tanya Howard, Training Team Administrator, has a personal interest in the charity. She explains:“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 (next year will be 5 years clear) which is when I became involved in organising the Wear It Pink day activities. The first year we raised a total of £215; this has increased every year and this year’s total was £464.45".
Christies also hold a Strawberry Tea day each year. Tanya explains: "My colleagues are the star bakers and make lots of scones to have with strawberries (donated by Friday Street Farm Shop) and the tea is made by whoever is willing to put the kettle on!"
Christies Care provide 24 hour, live-in carers all across the UK to help people maintain their independence and happiness; allowing them to continue living in their own homes.
